Many schools claim to be "child-focused" and foster "a love of learning through individualized teaching," but this is only truly evident and possible in a Montessori classroom. Montessori East was incorporated in 1981 after first opening its doors in 1978 with a small preschool group. We have grown through the years, occupying various sites, and our aim has always been to provide a more inspiring and nurturing environment for children to learn.
Our goal is to build a new community campus by 2022, expanding our current preschool and primary school scope to the broader age range from 0-18. Our current services will incorporate a high school, under three's program, parent development center, and community education hub. A national Montessori teacher training facility will also be established on the same campus.
We believe that education's role is to develop a lifelong love of learning and deep respect for each other, creating a more connected community and empowered world citizens. Montessori East School's vision is to create a relevant education revolution by establishing this new center. It will be a school of the 21st Century, and beyond, that has at its heart the needs of the child (and in turn society), built on the foundations of a solid pedagogy laid down by Dr. Maria Montessori.
The demand for a new approach to teaching and learning has seen a growing interest in the Montessori education model. This is the optimal time to see this vision become a reality, to become a lighthouse of learning for all families desiring to be a part of a better world.
