Immanuel Lutheran College is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational school with an onsite Early Learning Centre. Established in 1979, the College is the longest-serving independent school on the Sunshine Coast and has forged a reputation for excellence that goes well beyond the academic achievements of its students.

At Immanuel, we take equal pride in encouraging students' academic, cultural, social, physical, spiritual, and pastoral development. Situated on 23 picturesque hectares and surrounded by rainforest, innovation is at the core of our programs, seamlessly blending classroom, mobile and online experiences throughout the learning journey. I am often asked what sets Immanuel students apart. I believe it focuses on the individual harnessing their strengths and developing personalized pathways and programs of learning. While encouraging an individualized approach to learning, we also embrace events such as the Immanuel Arts Festival, Fruehlingsfest, and Voices on the Coast Literature Festival to bring the wider community together. From 2018, a new Environmental Centre, the first of its kind for a school on the Sunshine Coast, will offer students from many schools the opportunity to work in ''living'' classrooms under teacher's teachers'' guidance, including those from our local university.

An integral part of our approach to developing the whole person is the unique outdoor education program at our second campus, Mt Binga. Students spend time at Binga across various year levels, participating in a program that promotes teamwork and independent thinkers who have the confidence to take their place in the world and develop the essential values of respect, care, trust, and empathy.

Our vision is that Immanuel graduates will be identified by their confidence, optimism, and respect for healthy relationships. They will be highly competent and capable of making a positive contribution to their country and the world. They will be well-grounded with a sense of who they are in the world and a set of values founded in faith, reason, and knowledge.

    Mission Statement

    • Building Community
    • Learning Together
    • God With Us

We acknowledge God'sGod's Word as the authority and guide for the community. In it Christ is revealecenterviding the center of all we do under God'sGod's grace. We believe each person in the community is essential, their worth attested by Christ, and should reach their potential: academically, spiritually, physically, culturally, and socio-emotionally. We aim to strive for excellence in an education that is authentic, life-related, and future-orientated.

We believe that in Christ, all are equal, regardless of race, ability, gender, or physical nature, and are committed to each other in caring, just, supporting, encouraging, and forgiving relationships. We believe that we are to serve one another and the community. We believe that the natural environment is to be preserved and protected as we interact with it. We believe that Immanuel is enriched as we develop school pride and spirit and interact with the broader community.

The College motto, Walk as Children of the Light, points us in the direction we must be going. We have to more fully come to know Jesus Christ, who is the Light of the World, and know what it means to be "Children of the Light." The motto tells us then to be what we are, and thus a significant objective of the College is to expose its students to the Light of the World and His plan for them.

Our logo shows the Cross of Christ in front of the rising sun. Since the sun gives us light, the logo highlights Jesus as the Light of the World. Light also reveals and exposes, and thus we are reminded to look at ourselves as Jesus sees us. The sun is a symbol of the Sunshine Coast and its surf, sand, and enjoyment. The Cross is a symbol of Christ and His love for the world. When these two symbols are put together, we have a picture of Christ in the world where we are.
