Haileybury is acclaimed as a great school. The acclaim stems from our remarkable academic results achieved through the highly successful parallel education model, outstanding teachers, small class sizes, an unmatched level of individual attention – and over 125 years of history and achievement.
Haileybury has high expectations for its students and provides them with the support needed to achieve academically. In the Junior School, Haileybury's literacy and numeracy results are amongst the very best in Australia. In the Senior School, we expect 45% of boys and girls to be placed in the top 10% in Australia, 75% in the top 20% in the country, and 90% should be in the top 30%.
We believe that graduate students should have strong core academic skills, broad analytical thinking ability, and operating in a rapidly changing world.  Haileybury offers a wide range of international engagement opportunities for Melbourne's students, including spending time at the Haileybury International School, Tianjin (China), or visiting partner schools in East Timor, The Philippines, Japan, France, the UK, and the US.
At Haileybury, learning starts at an early age through flexible and creative programs in our Early Learning Centres. The core literacy and numeracy skills are developed through explicit, direct instructional learning in the Junior Years. In the Middle Years, a combination of explicit instruction and student-centered learning is used to broaden analytical thinking and problem-solving. An exciting Year 9 development program develops independence and resilience. The three-year VCE Program in the Senior Years, coupled with a wide range of subject choices available, ensures that there are programs to suit all students' interests and abilities.
Our academic programs are enhanced by Haileybury's commitment to a strong social education program that includes fulfilling potential, supporting individual resilience, and developing personal character values, including a commitment to lifelong learning. I believe in social justice principles and am committed to the School, developing our students accordingly.
Education at Haileybury is much more than a formal learning program. It embodies attention to the welfare of each student and his or her total school experience. Through our model of Parallel Education, it seeks the best that can be achieved academically for each student and, at the same time, looks to his or her social development.
Haileybury opened its doors in 1892 with five staff and 17 students.  In its over 125 years of history, the School has changed dramatically to become one of Australia's leading private schools.  What started as a small school has developed into a sizeable global school with campuses in Keysborough, Brighton, Berwick, Melbourne (City), Darwin, and Beijing (China).

Haileybury Tianjin (owned by Melbourne) was the most toxic and abusive school I have ever worked for. The school defrauded staff of legally earned wages (and lost multiple court cases over it). There is little to no discipline leading to safety issues for students and teachers alike. There is alao no proper curriculum so educational achievement is quite low. School leadership consists of a cruel father daughter team who only care for profit and that they be treated lije royalty. Multiple teachers have inforned Melbourne of what is happeninf but there is no response.
