We are seeking a highly skilled and board-certified Medical Director to lead our team of Collaborating and Supervising Physicians who provide expert guidance to Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in an urgent care setting through our telemedicine platform and chart reviews. As the Medical Director, you will play a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the activities of collaborating and supervising physicians, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and adherence to best practices. Your leadership, clinical expertise, and commitment to excellence will contribute to the success and growth of our urgent care telemedicine services. Responsibilities: Lead and supervise a team of Collaborating Physicians who provide guidance and support to Physician Assistants (PAs) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in the urgent care telemedicine setting. Create the schedules for the Collaborating Physicians. Perform ongoing professional performance evaluations of the Collaborating Physicians. Partner with the medical staff coordinator to ensure that the Supervising Physicians complete their chart reviews accurately and on time. Perform audits of the Supervising Physician’s chart reviews to be able to provide feedback and medical direction. Collaborate with the telemedicine team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care delivery, optimizing clinical outcomes through the telemedicine platform. Review and assess complex patient cases remotely, including medical histories, symptoms, and relevant diagnostic data, to ensure accurate diagnoses and evidence-based treatment recommendations. Provide expert guidance and consultation to collaborating physicians, supporting their professional development and continuous learning in urgent care telemedicine. Work closely with the organization's leadership to develop and implement telemedicine protocols, policies, and guidelines for optimal patient care delivery. Ensure all services comply with healthcare regulations, telemedicine standards, and ethical practices. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, analyzing data and providing insights to enhance patient safety, efficiency, and overall quality of care. Maintain accurate and complete documentation of patient encounters, adhering to legal, regulatory, and billing requirements. Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment among collaborating physicians and other telemedicine team members. Requirements: Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a telemedicine or urgent care setting, is highly preferred. Extensive clinical knowledge and expertise in urgent care medicine, including the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of acute medical conditions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance and support to collaborating physicians, PAs, NPs, and other healthcare professionals. Commitment to maintaining patient privacy, confidentiality, and adherence to legal and ethical standards in telemedicine practice. Proficiency in using telemedicine platforms and electronic medical records (EMR) systems. You have demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment, fostering positive relationships and facilitating open communication. Salary: · $21 per hour At WellNow Urgent Care you’ll enjoy: Competitive salary Parental leave Continuing education opportunities Medical benefits, including vision coverage, FSA/HSA options, and prescription drug coverage 401(k) plan with a company match for your future financial security Free urgent care visits for you and your immediate family members Scrubs provided to ensure a professional and comfortable work environment Opportunities for promotional growth as we continue to expand our presence Monthly bonus based on your performance and productivity Responsibilities: 0-25% Travel Requirement.Responsible for taking patient history and obtain vital signsPerform basic testing or screenings such as: vision, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, pulmonary function testingPerform necessary phlebotomy for collection of laboratory samplesAccurately complete corresponding paperwork/computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue and culture samplesPerform point of care testing such as: strep, mono, glucose, influenza, Urine pregnancy, Urinalysis, blood glucose levelsInsure sterile technique, instrument cleaning and sterilization, proper use of the autoclaveSchedule and coordinate necessary records for ancillary care for patientsAssist providers with exams and testing (pelvic exams, eye irrigations and ear irrigations, I & D’s and splinting/ ortho-glass preparationMaintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA)Ensures equipment is in working orderLogs laboratory procedures when completed, processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directedMaintains examination rooms and stocks necessary medical suppliesPerforms duties to ensure good patient flowRegistration duties: explain to patients what insurances that are accepted and those that are out of network as well knowledgeable of all pricing - Properly collect and record payments, complete registration screen in a timely mannerAccompanies the provider to the bedsideAccurately and thoroughly documents the patient medical history, physical exam, and proceduresCompletes transcription as requestedPerforms tasks to improve provider efficiency during the course of a shiftGreets and registers patientsAnswers and appropriately triages phone callsTakes payments for visitsPrinting, scanning, and faxing reportsOther front desk and cleaning responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience: High School Degree or equivalentAbility to identify equipment problems and correcting or notifying team leaderAbility to apply written instructions and standardized work practicesAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and familiesAble to withstand physical & mental demands: standing, walking, stooping, and bending. Requires ability to move equipment and transfer patients.Computer knowledge and skills, must be able to register patients on the computer in a timely mannerUp-to-date on injections, and provide documentation, as per OSHA guidelinesAbility to complete and maintain CPR certificationExcellent listening and note-taking skillsAbility to apply written instructions and standardize work practicesBasic computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)Demonstrated ability to type at least 45 words per minuteStrong communication skills, including grammatical, spelling and verbalDetail-oriented with proven ability to work effectively under conditions requiring accuracyCapable of working well on a teamFriendly and customer service orientedAbility to manage high call volumeAbility to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend, climb, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions of hands and/or wrists.Requires some physical work; lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds.Close mental and visual attention required for planning or directing fairly complex work methods or operations that obtain size, shape, or physical qualities of product.
