Job Description

We are hiring a subject-matter expert in US employment-based immigration to manage and handle the operational and tech-enabled rollout of sponsorship restrictions by job family across Amazon's hiring systems. This person is the go-to expert on US sponsorship policy across visa types and eligibility criteria. They translate immigration policy and PXT direction into clear operating frameworks and screening logic, partner with TA Tech and Product to build both interim and durable solutions within Hire/Amazon systems, and handle complex escalations across the recruiting and HR community as the policy scope evolves.

Key job responsibilities
• Tech solution ownership: Work with TA Tech and Product leaders to create a short-term (interim) and long-term (durable) solution for implementing sponsorship restrictions in Hire/Amazon systems.
• Decision framework: Define the decision-making matrix (which job families/roles can be sponsored) and the communication strategy for recruiters, HRBPs, and candidates.
• Workflow design: Build and configure workflows with clear escalation paths for eligibility screening and exceptions.
• Day-to-day execution: Own and run day-to-day operations with the support of the execution team.
• Edge cases & escalations: Manage complex queries and edge cases - e.g., grandfathering of existing employees, exception requests from business lines.
• Stakeholder engagement: Engage stakeholders across HRBP, TA, and Hiring Managers to embed restrictions into the hiring process.
• Oversight & quality: Run proactive audits and oversee contingent worker (CWR) quality and output on screening and contact handling.
