Job Description

Amazon’s South Africa marketplace is growing fast, and the sellers on it depend on us to get their products to customers quickly and reliably. The 3P Fulfilment team owns that promise across FBA, Easy Ship, Seller Flex and Merchant-fulfilled channels.
We are looking for an experienced Operations Excellence Manager to own how well those channels operate. You will be responsible for the operational metrics the business is goaled on, for the mechanisms that move them, and for the data that proves whether they moved. This is a hands-on, deeply analytical role: you will spend your time in order-level data, in the detail of carrier and fulfilment-centre operations, and in the room where trade-offs between speed, cost and seller experience get decided.

You will own end-to-end supply-chain processes from source to customer, using data to influence others and to build scalable systems and processes rather than fixing single issues and you will play a critical role in delivering the optimal seller and customer experience by ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time.
You will work directly with ZA fulfilment and transportation operations, seller-facing product and account-health teams, worldwide programme teams launching into ZA, and our carrier partners. You will be expected to form your own view from the data, write it up clearly, and defend it.
If you are motivated by taking processes that today rely on manual trackers and individual knowledge and building them into scalable, well-documented mechanisms that run reliably without their owner, this is the role for you

Key job responsibilities
Drive the core 3P fulfilment metrics end to end — own the definitions, the data sources behind them, the weekly and quarterly reporting, and the variance narrative for the 3P speed, reliability and seller-adoption metrics the business is goaled on.

Monitor and improve core 3P operational metrics — seller availability and in-stock rate, inbound lead time, delivery speed and fulfilment/fill rates — identifying and delivering improvement opportunities with sellers and their Account Managers across replenishment, inbound and fulfilment execution.

•Run and improve the standing operational mechanisms that move those metrics — including seller performance review programmes, metric-exemption and waiver processing, seller enforcement ladders, and the 3P inbound appointment process through peak. Document each one so it survives a change of owner.

Act as the ZA 3P operations input into worldwide programme launches — supply the market business requirements, launch cohort and hold-back list, measurement window, performance thresholds and local enforcement design, and coordinate delivery with the owning programme teams.

Build and own the 3P reporting layer — dashboards and scheduled data feeds that give the ZA team, Account Managers and worldwide programme partners a single trustworthy source, replacing manual pulls.

Diagnose and close performance defects. Identify where seller-fault, carrier-fault and Amazon-fault misses actually originate, size each, and drive the fix with the owning team — sellers, Account Managers, carriers or fulfilment centres — rather than reporting it.

Own the carrier and fulfilment-centre operational interface for 3P inbound — service-level expectations, appointment and escalation routes with carriers and FCs. Optimise the end-to-end 3P fulfilment cost structure and profitability through carrier and partner-team engagement, project management and system improvements.

Write the documents. Business requirement documents, weekly and quarterly business reviews. Share 3P operational insights into Senior Leadership business reviews, verbally and in writing.

Partner with Legal, PR and account health on any change to seller-facing policy, help content or seller communications, and own the ZA localisation of seller-facing material.

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain or logistics, or 3+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Experience with SQL and advanced Excel
- Experience working with large, complex data sets
- Experience in e-commerce, retail or advertising, or experience in logistics
- • Experience working directly with external partners such as carriers, 3PLs or vendors

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience defining, refining and implementing sales processes, procedures and policies or equivalent
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
- Knowledge in SQL
- Experience with processes improvements and SOP executions
- Experience in Fulfillment, Supply Chain, Logistics or eCommerce
