Job Description

Amazon Network Deployment Services owns the planning, delivery, and lifecycle management of network infrastructure supporting Amazon's global fulfillment, transportation and grocery, sites. Our infrastructure enables reliable connectivity for Amazon's operations at scale and plays a critical role in supporting business growth, operational efficiency, and customer experience. The team is responsible for delivering network infrastructure programs across the full lifecycle, including hardware deployment, upgrades, capacity expansion, technology refresh, optimization, and decommissioning. We work closely with Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Field Deployment, Operations, and external vendors to deliver scalable, reliable, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions across Amazon's global network.
We are seeking a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to lead large-scale network hardware deployment and lifecycle programs. The successful candidate will own program planning and execution, drive financial and commercial approvals, coordinate hardware procurement and field deployments, and ensure programs are delivered on time and within budget. This role requires strong program management fundamentals, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and experience delivering complex infrastructure programs across cross-functional teams.

Key job responsibilities
• Program Ownership and Execution: Own end-to-end planning and delivery of network hardware lifecycle programs, including technology refresh, infrastructure upgrades, capacity expansion, and hardware replacement. Manage multiple programs in parallel, ensuring delivery against agreed schedules, budgets, and business requirements.
• Financial Planning and Approvals: Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to develop project cost estimates, prepare and secure Capital Authorization Request (CAR) approvals, track budget utilization, and manage financial risks and changes throughout the program lifecycle.
• Vendor and Commercial Management: Work with hardware vendors, suppliers, and internal procurement teams to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, evaluate commercial proposals, and drive cost-effective procurement while meeting program timelines and technical requirements.
• Project Planning and Deployment Coordination: Develop detailed project plans, milestones, resource requirements, and deployment schedules. Coordinate with field deployment teams, engineering teams, vendors, and site stakeholders to ensure hardware deployments are executed as planned and dependencies are addressed proactively.
• Risk and Dependency Management: Identify delivery risks, technical dependencies, resource constraints, and schedule deviations early. Establish mitigation plans, drive issue resolution, and escalate blockers to the appropriate stakeholders to protect committed timelines.
• Stakeholder Management and Communication: Build strong working relationships across Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Field Deployment, Operations, and external vendors. Provide clear and regular program updates to stakeholders and senior leadership, highlighting progress, risks, financial status, and decisions required.
• Metrics and Operational Excellence: Establish scalable mechanisms to track program milestones, deployment progress, financial performance, vendor commitments, and delivery risks. Use metrics to improve visibility, identify bottlenecks, reduce deployment cycle times, and drive continuous improvement.
• Process Improvement and Standardization: Identify opportunities to simplify program execution, standardize deployment processes, improve planning accuracy, and reduce manual effort across hardware lifecycle programs. Develop repeatable mechanisms that support increased deployment volume and operational scale.

Basic Qualifications:

- • 3+ years of program or project management experience.
- • Experience managing large-scale infrastructure deployment, hardware lifecycle, telecom, networking, data center, or IT infrastructure programs.
- • Experience managing project schedules, milestones, risks, dependencies, budgets, and delivery commitments.
- • Experience coordinating across cross-functional teams, external vendors, and senior stakeholders.
- • Experience with financial planning, cost tracking, procurement, or commercial negotiations.
- • Experience using program metrics, reporting mechanisms, and project management tools to track execution and drive results.

Preferred Qualifications:

- • Experience managing large-scale network hardware deployment, infrastructure refresh, technology upgrade, or lifecycle management programs.
- • Familiarity with telecom and networking infrastructure, including routers, switches, WAN connectivity, and related network technologies.
- • Experience preparing business cases, securing capital approvals, and managing project budgets.
- • Experience negotiating vendor pricing and managing supplier commitments for infrastructure deployments.
- • Experience coordinating field deployment teams across multiple sites or geographic regions.
- • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex programs simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- • Experience simplifying processes, building scalable mechanisms, and driving continuous improvement.
