These solutions address all key segments connected to the energy system including generation, transmission distribution, industries, transportation, and infrastructure sectors.
To strengthen our Engineering team, we are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer (SCADA) to support challenging projects in the field of substation automation for high- and medium-voltage installations. In this key role, you will combine strong technical expertise with project responsibility and a customer-focused mindset. You will develop innovative automation solutions, coordinate technical interfaces, and support projects from the concept phase through engineering and testing to successful commissioning. If you are looking to contribute your experience in an international environment and help shape the future of intelligent power grids, we look forward to receiving your application.
Your Responsibilities

- Develop system and network architectures and integrate RTU, gateway, protection, and automation systems into complex plant environments.
- Configure and parameterize Ethernet-based communication networks and implement project-specific functionalities and software applications.
- Execute system, integration, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) to ensure the highest level of system quality.
- Support commissioning activities and service interventions at customer sites, primarily within Switzerland, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
- Take technical ownership within projects and advise customers on optimal automation and communication solutions.
- Collaborate closely with project management, sales, suppliers, and internal engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Prepare technical specifications, system and network concepts, test documentation, as well as operation and training manuals.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes, and best practices in the field of substation automation.
Your Background
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a comparable technical qualification.
- Min. 5+ years of experience in power automation, substation automation, SCADA, or RTU systems.
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, network architectures, and cybersecurity within critical infrastructure environments.
- Experience with IEC 61850-based systems and the integration of protection, control, and automation systems.
- Knowledge of MicroSCADA, RTU500, or IET600 is considered an advantage.
- Experience in technical project coordination, customer consulting, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), commissioning, and/or customer training.
- Independent, structured, and solution-oriented working style with strong communication, coordination, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken. German language skills are an advantage but not required. Additional languages are welcome.
