As a Field Service Engineer, you will play a vital role in delivering world-class maintenance, repair, commissioning and technical support services to our Industrial and Utility customers throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. Working with High Voltage equipment and advanced power systems, you will be at the forefront of ensuring safe, reliable and efficient energy delivery.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Develop and execute detailed commissioning and energisation plans, ensuring all pre commissioning, testing, start-up and handover activities are completed safely and on schedule.
  • Lead commissioning activities for High Voltage equipment and power system installations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Prepare, review and maintain commissioning procedures, test documentation, technical reports and handover packs.
  • Coordinate commissioning schedules and site activities with customers, contractors and third-party service providers to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Carry out inspection, testing, troubleshooting and fault diagnosis on High Voltage equipment, identifying and resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Develop and implement pre-commissioning and commissioning test procedures while ensuring all deficiencies are identified, documented and rectified.
  • Monitor commissioning progress and provide clear reporting on project status, safety, quality and technical performance.
  • Support customer acceptance testing and ensure all commissioning documentation is completed accurately, obtaining formal customer sign-off where required.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, network operators and other stakeholders to secure necessary approvals for energisation and project completion.

Your Background:

  • Qualified Electrician with proven experience working on High Voltage power systems, electrical substations, or transmission and distribution networks.
  • Technical knowledge of 38kV, 110kV and 220kV equipment, with experience in protection relays, testing and relay programming.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities within the power generation, transmission or utility sectors.
  • Skilled in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis and producing clear, accurate technical reports to support customers and operational teams.
  • Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to record service activities, manage maintenance schedules and ensure accurate asset records.
  • Ability to complete commissioning documentation, customer service reports and technical records accurately and within required timescales.
  • Knowledge of High Voltage products, services and solutions across the power grid industry would be advantageous.
  • Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across Ireland and Northern Ireland.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary package
  • 24 days holidays, plus bank holidays
  • Excellent company pension and wide-ranging benefits schemes.
