The opportunity

The individual will play the role of a Senior Agentic AI Engineer in designing, building, and deploying Agentic AI and GenAI solutions within the AI & Data team.

The role will require working closely with Managers, Product Owners, and Architects. It will involve building Python backend and API services that expose AI capabilities to applications and enterprise systems.

The objective of this role is to deliver scalable, production-grade Agentic AI solutions that automate business processes and create measurable value.

Your key responsibilities

It will include:

• Designing and building Agentic AI solutions, translating business and functional requirements into agent architectures, workflows, and capabilities
• Developing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, including ingestion, chunking, embedding, retrieval, and response generation
• Developing and enhancing reusable AI/ML accelerators for business processes such as customer care, software development, predictive analytics, and operational automation
• Designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services that expose AI and agent capabilities to applications and enterprise systems
• Implementing asynchronous, high-throughput APIs suited to LLM and agent workloads
• Integrating with enterprise and third-party systems using REST APIs and JSON
• Securing APIs using industry-standard authentication and authorization (OAuth 2.0, JWT, API keys)
• Documenting APIs using OpenAPI / Swagger specifications
• Writing clean, tested, and maintainable code, and participating in code reviews
• Guiding and reviewing the work of junior engineers
• Collaborating with product, data engineering, QA, and domain teams to deliver integrated solutions
• Staying current with emerging trends in AI and LLMs, and contributing to knowledge sharing and capability-building within the team

Skills and attributes for success

• Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with Python web and API frameworks – at least one of FastAPI, Flask, or Django / Django REST Framework (FastAPI preferred)
• Experience with Pydantic for data validation and asyncio for asynchronous programming
• Experience deploying Python services on ASGI/WSGI servers (e.g., Uvicorn, Gunicorn)
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design, JSON, OpenAPI / Swagger, and API security
• Hands-on experience with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
• Hands-on experience with Agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain / LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen)
• Sound understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Working experience with at least one cloud platform (Azure / AWS / GCP)

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a related quantitative field
• 5–8 years of experience in software engineering, AI, or data, including at least 3 years in Python backend / API development and at least 2 years of hands-on GenAI / Agentic AI solution delivery
• Proven experience deploying AI solutions to production
• Experience contributing to accelerators or reusable platforms

Ideally, you'll also have

Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (e.g., AKS, EKS, GKE), Git / GitHub including GitHub Actions for CI/CD, and familiarity with data visualization tools will be an added advantage. GenAI and LLM focussed, AI/ML, cloud, or data analytics certifications (Microsoft, AWS, Google, Coursera, etc.) are preferred.
