About the role

St Vincent's Care Services Carina is looking for a Lifestyle Assistant to join our experienced, close-knit team. Just 7km from Brisbane's CBD and surrounded by landscaped gardens, our home offers a warm, community-oriented environment for residents — and an equally supportive one for staff.

In this role, you'll design and deliver engaging lifestyle and leisure programs that bring joy, connection and purpose to residents' daily lives, including those living with dementia. You'll build genuine relationships with residents and their families and be a valued part of a care team that believes relationships matter more than routines.

  • More take-home pay — salary packaging up to $15,990 p.a., novated leasing, plus an optional Meals & Entertainment card up to $2,650 p.a.
  • Better work-life balance — consistent fortnightly rosters for permanent positions, no rotating shifts
  • Career growth — development, mentoring and leadership pathways across Australia's largest Catholic not-for-profit health and aged care provider
  • A great team culture — like-minded colleagues who share a genuine community care spirit
  • No cost to you — uniforms and training provided
  • COVID vaccinationnot mandatory — free annual flu vaccination recommended
  • Wellbeing support — Employee Assistance Program for you and your family, plus access to Fitness Passport

What you'll bring

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Lifestyle and Leisure, or Diversional Therapy (essential)
  • Experience delivering lifestyle/leisure programs in an aged care setting, including for residents living with dementia
  • A genuine passion for person-centred care and strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills and sharp attention to detail
  • The ability to work within care plans and understand resident rights and responsibilities
  • A creative flair to think outside the box when it comes to activity planning
