As a Principal, Solutions Architect at Amazon, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior customer leadership, architecting solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. You will operate in environments of high ambiguity, decomposing intricate problems into elegant designs while balancing trade-offs across scalability, reliability, cost, and performance. Your work will directly influence how customers adopt new technological capabilities, helping them realize long-term strategies that impact revenue, profitability, and market position. This is a role for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen and a genuine passion for helping customers succeed.

Key job responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end cloud solutions for customers facing significantly complex technical and business challenges, making informed trade-off decisions across extensibility, scalability, security, and cost optimization to meet long-term goals.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers' senior leadership, leading both strategic business discussions and deep technical design reviews while building consensus across multiple customer teams.
- Develop and deliver thought leadership content such as reference architectures, white papers, workshops, and presentations that provide prescriptive guidance and educate broad technical and business audiences.
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback across engagements, translating complex requirements into clear inputs for product and engineering teams to influence product roadmaps and close gaps in services.
- Build cross-organizational relationships to drive alignment across sales, engineering, professional services, and support teams, ensuring delivered solutions become reusable reference designs that benefit customers at scale.

A day in the life
You might start your morning reviewing an architectural proposal for a customer navigating a large-scale cloud migration, then join a working session with their engineering team to refine design patterns around data protection and access controls. After lunch, you could lead a strategy discussion with a customer's executive team on how generative AI capabilities can unlock new business value. Later, you collaborate with product teams to share insights from recent engagements and shape upcoming feature priorities. Throughout it all, you bring clarity to ambiguity and help others see the path forward.

This position may require access to export-controlled information (ECI) subject to EAR and ITAR. Final employment decision is contingent upon satisfactory completion of export control screenings and obtaining any necessary export licenses or approvals, based on nationality, citizenship, and other factors considered by applicable export control regulations

Basic Qualifications:

- Technical Writing certification or certificate in any of the following: Creative Writing, English Literature, English, Literary Arts, Linguistics, English as a Second Language
- Executive Presence
- Advanced networking

- Experience in an operational role, or experience managing teams
