Role Overview:
Cordavis is seeking a senior, commercially minded strategy and analytics professional to join the Pricing & Profitability team as an individual contributor. The role will proactively identify and evaluate growth and profitability opportunities, structure ambiguous commercial questions, develop robust business cases and translate analysis into clear strategic options and recommendations.
The successful candidate will combine strong quantitative capability with commercial judgment, curiosity, creativity and disciplined execution. The role requires someone who can build trusted cross-functional relationships, challenge assumptions constructively and communicate a clear point of view to senior stakeholders. This is a hands-on role: the individual will own work from problem definition and evidence gathering through modelling, recommendation and executive communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively monitor commercial performance, market developments, formulary dynamics, pricing, rebates, copay and other profitability drivers to identify emerging risks and opportunities before being asked.
- Independently frame ambiguous commercial questions, identify relevant evidence and data, conduct analysis and develop a clear point of view with limited direction.
- Develop strategic options rather than a single answer, clearly articulating the commercial logic, assumptions, risks, rewards and trade-offs of each option.
- Build and own business cases, opportunity assessments, commercial due diligence and scenario analyses for products, customers, contracts, channels, partnerships and new business models.
- Build, maintain, audit and improve pricing, Gross-to-Net (GTN), profitability and scenario models, ensuring they are accurate, transparent, easy to follow and aligned to the latest approved assumptions.
- Integrate WAC, rebates, formulary access, copay, volume, supply, channel, customer and contractual considerations into a cohesive view of opportunity economics and profitability.
- Translate complex analysis into concise commercial insights, executive presentations and decision-ready recommendations that explain what changed, why it matters and what action should be considered.
- Provide analytical and strategic support for pricing, bids and renewals, portfolio and copay decisions, business-development opportunities, launches, forecasts and other profitability initiatives.
- Pressure test inputs and recommendations with relevant stakeholders, remain confident under constructive challenge and update the view when new evidence warrants a change.
- Promote transparent assumption governance by clearly documenting sources, versions, sensitivities, decisions and outstanding uncertainties, while supporting the Book of Records and related controls.
- Build trusted relationships across Finance, Business Development, Market Access, Strategy, Data & Analytics, Supply Chain, Cordavis leadership and relevant CVS teams; engage stakeholders early and bring them through the analysis and recommendation.
- Improve recurring analyses, processes and work products so they are timely, repeatable, well organized and useful to decision-makers.
- Operate as a hands-on senior individual contributor without formal people-management responsibility, taking end-to-end ownership of agreed outcomes and adapting priorities as the business evolves.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
Education:
Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Science, Business or a related quantitative or commercial discipline. An advanced degree, actuarial qualification or other relevant financial training is advantageous but not required.
Experience:
5- 7 years' relevant experience in pharmaceutical commercial finance, commercial analytics, pricing, profitability, corporate strategy, corporate development, market access analytics, management consulting or a related decision-support role. Experience independently leading complex analyses and developing recommendations for senior commercial decisions is required. Pharmaceutical or healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong commercial judgment and understanding of the drivers of growth, pricing, access, profitability and business performance.
- Advanced numerical, financial-modelling and analytical skills, including excellent Excel capability and the ability to build, audit and improve complex models.
- Ability to connect detailed analysis to the broader business context and explain the “so what,” implications and recommended action.
- Natural curiosity and creativity in developing solutions, testing alternatives and identifying opportunities for impact.
- Demonstrated initiative and ownership, with the ability to shape the role, prioritize work and deliver complete outputs without waiting for detailed instructions.
- Strong organization and attention to detail, with a commitment to accurate, transparent, current and easy-to-follow work products.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, including the ability to create concise executive materials and communicate a clear commercial story.
- High emotional intelligence and relationship-building capability across functions and levels of seniority.
- Confidence to challenge assumptions constructively, defend a recommendation and operate where judgment is required and no exact answer exists.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, seek feedback, manage competing priorities and adapt to changing scope in a dynamic environment.
- Collaborative approach and willingness to proactively understand how other teams work, what they need and how Pricing & Profitability can improve the collective outcome.
