Job Description

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.

Join EY and help to build a better working world.

EY is on a journey to transform its positive impact by becoming an accelerator of sustainable and inclusive growth - advancing innovation, technology and responsible business practices that enable as many people as possible to contribute to, and share in, the benefits of economic growth. This includes significantly increasing our social impact, operating responsibly across all aspects of our business, and combating climate change through data‑ and AI‑enabled solutions.

EY Ripples is EY’s global corporate responsibility program, mobilizing EY people to participate in skilled volunteering that drives measurable outcomes for people, communities and the environment. The Global Corporate Responsibility (GCR) team takes a consistent, global approach to engaging and inspiring thousands of EY professionals to apply and develop their skills in collaboration with nonprofits, impact enterprises, educators, governments and technology alliance partners.

A growing priority of this work relates to the scaling and effective execution of the Africa Ripples portfolio across the region. Following the Africa Ripples Roadshow and ongoing portfolio reviews, it was identified that a single regional resource was responsible for the end-to-end delivery, deployment coordination, stakeholder engagement, reporting and performance tracking of key Africa-wide initiatives, including NextGen, EY Africa's flagship youth development programme, and the launch of the NextGent programme. As the portfolio continues to expand in scale, geographic reach, volunteer participation and reporting requirements, the need for dedicated regional programme management and execution oversight has increased. The proposed role addresses this capacity gap by strengthening programme delivery, accountability, governance, impact measurement and support for country teams, enabling greater and more sustainable impact across Africa.

The opportunity

This role is embedded within the Global Corporate Responsibility (GCR) Ripples team to drive effective programme delivery across the Africa region. The role supports the implementation, monitoring and reporting of Ripples initiatives; coordinates engagement with internal and external stakeholders; tracks programme performance and impact metrics; and enables the successful execution of strategic volunteer and social impact programmes across multiple African member firms.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support the execution of the Africa Ripples strategy and portfolio across Africa member firms.
  • Monitor and track country commitments, programme targets, volunteer participation, lives impacted and other key performance metrics.
  • Drive programme implementation, follow-up and accountability with country Ripples leads and stakeholders to ensure delivery against agreed priorities.
  • Manage regional reporting requirements, dashboards, governance processes and data integrity across the Africa Ripples portfolio.
  • Support the rollout and delivery of regional and global Ripples initiatives, campaigns and strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate strategic collaborations with non-profit organisations, ecosystem partners, clients, alliances and other stakeholders to maximize social impact.
  • Provide programme management support for flagship initiatives, including NextGen, NextGent and other Africa-wide youth development and social impact programmes.
  • Maintain programme documentation, beneficiary records, learner databases, programme calendars and Social and Economic Development (SED) evidence.
  • Manage volunteer registrations, engagement activities and participation tracking through the EY Ripples platform and other reporting tools.
  • Support BRIDGE administration, programme governance and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Identify delivery risks, reporting gaps and operational challenges, and implement corrective actions to improve programme performance and accountability.
  • Collaborate with Global Corporate Responsibility teams, Africa Talent teams and country representatives to drive consistency, scalability and impact across the Africa Ripples portfolio.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coordination and operational oversight to support country coordinators and resources across the region.

Key skills & experience

  • Experience in programme management, project coordination and operational delivery within a regional or multi-country environment.
  • Strong reporting, data analysis and performance tracking skills, with the ability to monitor, interpret and communicate programme metrics and impact measures.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously while delivering against deadlines and strategic priorities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different levels of the organization and external partner networks.
  • Experience supporting volunteer, community investment, corporate responsibility, sustainability or social impact programmes is advantageous.
  • Strong governance, risk management and process improvement capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report preparation, presentations and stakeholder engagement.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational, planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint.
  • Experience working with reporting platforms, dashboards, databases and programme management tools.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and drive accountability across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Experience working across African markets and within complex matrix organizations is advantageous.

Preferred experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Project Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Human Resources, Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility or a related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in programme management, corporate responsibility, community investment, stakeholder engagement or a related discipline.
  • Experience coordinating regional initiatives and working with senior stakeholders across multiple countries.

Success Measures

  • Programme Delivery
    • Successful execution of Africa Ripples programmes and strategic priorities, including NextGen, NextGent and regional initiatives, against agreed plans and timelines.
  • Volunteer Participation
    • Achievement of Africa volunteer participation targets and increased engagement across member firms.
  • Lives Impacted
    • Achievement of Africa lives impacted targets and contribution to FY27 Ripples impact objectives.
  • Reporting & Governance
    • Accurate, complete and timely submission of EYPP, Ripples and governance reporting requirements.
