Job Description

MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Medical-Surgical RN to join our collaborative nursing team. This is a great opportunity for an RN who enjoys the variety of Med-Surg nursing, values teamwork, and wants to continue building clinical skills while working just two 12-hour shifts per week.

What You'll Do


As a Medical-Surgical RN, you will:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
  • Care for patients with a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
  • Monitor changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
  • Educate patients and families throughout their hospital stay
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate care
  • Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and an exceptional patient experience
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care during every interaction

Additional Job Description

Minimum Training and Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum of one year of work experience as a Registered Nurse required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Required Licensure & Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse license through the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a qualifying compact state
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Depending on position requirements, additional certifications may include:

  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification
  • Crisis Prevention training
