This is an exciting opportunity for an RN who enjoys variety, excels at prioritizing patient care, and wants to support multiple inpatient teams without being tied to a traditional patient assignment.
What Makes This Role Different?
As an Inpatient Resource Nurse, you'll partner with Charge Nurses and frontline nursing teams to provide hands-on clinical support, improve patient flow, and help ensure safe, efficient patient care.
Your Day May Include:
- Supporting nurses with assessments, medications, IV access, treatments, and other clinical needs.
- Assisting with admissions, discharges, transfers, and patient throughput.
- Providing additional clinical support during periods of high census, increased acuity, or staffing challenges.
- Serving as a clinical resource and mentor while helping nurses navigate changing patient care priorities.
- Supporting safe patient handoffs, timely documentation, and coordinated care across inpatient units.
Additional Job Description
Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Experience
- Two years of recent acute care RN experience preferred.
- Strong medical-surgical clinical skills, IV proficiency, and excellent prioritization abilities.
- Previous Charge Nurse, Resource Nurse, or preceptor experience preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current South Carolina RN license or multistate compact RN privilege required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Additional certifications, including ACLS, as required by assigned unit or hospital policy.
