The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer - Transformers to lead the design, development, and optimization of power transformers. The role involves converting customer requirements into innovative, compliant, and cost-effective solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and project success. You will oversee design validation, ensure compliance with industry and safety standards, support technical aspects of contract negotiations, and manage design-related contractual requirements.

How you will make an impact

  • Lead complex transformer design projects and provide technical expertise.
  • Manage multiple design projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Participate in risk assessment activities and develop effective mitigation plans.
  • Build strong customer relationships and engage in technical discussions to understand requirements and gather feedback.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives while maintaining quality, reliability, and performance standards.
  • Mentor and support the development of junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Identify and implement continuous design improvements based on lessons learned, customer feedback, and best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including design calculations, specifications, and engineering reports.

Your Background


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Power Systems or Electrical Machines.
  • 8-10 years of experience in transformer design and development.
  • Strong expertise in electromagnetic design, insulation coordination, thermal analysis, and transformer mechanical design.
  • Proficiency in engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, FEM software, and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Solid understanding of international transformer standards, including IEC and ANSI/IEEE.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Project management experience is an advantage
