Job Description

As a member of the Hospital’s senior management team, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will participate in operational decision-making processes necessary for the successful attainment of the hospital’s mission in addition to maintaining an awareness of changes in healthcare matter that could have an impact on the success of the hospital.  Will assist in the administration and coordination of hospital activities of any assigned department and/or section.  Assume duties of CEO in his/her absence.

Education: 

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field with a Master’s degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration from an accredited institution preferred.

Experience: 

• Minimum 4 years recent experience in a managerial position at an acute care hospital.
• Experience in running multiple hospital departments simultaneously, preferably a combination of support and non-nursing clinical departments.
• Experience in physician relations and/or recruitment
• Basic knowledge of hospital financial systems required. 
• Must be able to problem solve, identify real issues and formulate solutions and teach others.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and/or relevant work experience, and 10 years of progressive experience including 8 years in management/leadership roles.
