Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
- 8+ years of professional experience in Java/J2EE application development
- Strong hands-on experience with Core Java (OOP, collections, exception handling, multithreading/concurrency, JVM fundamentals, performance)
- Hands-on experience with JSP and Servlets
- Strong experience with the Struts framework, including older versions
- Hands-on experience with Spring MVC
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and modern Spring-based development
- Understanding of Java Applet technology; ability to maintain/support legacy Applet-based applications
- Experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server
- Experience with IBM MQ / WebSphere MQ and enterprise messaging/integration
- Good knowledge of Linux/Unix environments
- Experience with application migration, modernization, refactoring, or technology transformation
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, maintain, and support enterprise Java applications
- Analyze existing legacy Java applications and understand architecture, dependencies, and business functionality
- Work across both legacy and modern Java technology stacks, providing technical guidance and solutions
- Develop and maintain applications using Core Java, JSP, Servlets, Struts, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot
- Troubleshoot complex application, middleware, integration, performance, and production issues
- Participate in application architecture, technical design, code reviews, and development standards
- Support applications deployed on IBM WebSphere and integrated with IBM MQ
- Work in Linux/Unix environments for deployment, troubleshooting, scripting, and operational support
- Evaluate legacy components and recommend appropriate modernization approaches
- Provide technical leadership during application migration, transformation, and modernization initiatives
Generic Managerial Skills, If any
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior and mid-level developers
- Strong communication and collaboration with architects, developers, QA, DevOps, infra, and business stakeholders
- Communicate technical risks, dependencies, challenges, and modernization opportunities to stakeholders
- Coordinate with infrastructure/middleware teams and maintain technical documentation/knowledge-transfer materials
Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 per year
