System Development Engineer, Flight Computer Software - Redmond | Amazon Job

Job Description

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. The Role
In this role, you will participate in all phases of software development from requirements through implementation and test to operations. Our team tackles many critical satellite functions: power management, hardware interfaces, command & telemetry, and autonomous control.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop infrastructure for managing and maintaining flight computer operations for a constellation of satellites
- Develop embedded software in C, C++, Rust, or other languages in a real-time operating system environment
- Write system applications for flight code and flight management
- Work closely with embedded software and service teams to support integration testing, release, and continued operations

Export Control Requirement
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Basic Qualifications:

- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with distributed systems at scale

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
