Financial Analyst, AWS Finance - Hyderabad | Amazon Job

Job Description

Amazon seeks a Financial Analyst to join the AWS Finance team based out of Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be responsible for creating month end close reports, dashboards and supporting processes for various AWS finance teams. Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to details and technical ability to implement report automation is a preferred requirement for this position.

Key job responsibilities
• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• FP&A: knowledge in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes; develop financial models to support strategic planning and business reviews.
• Month-End & Year-End Close: Manage end-to-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and intercompany eliminations.
• Business Partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to provide financial insights, identify cost optimization opportunities, and support operational decision-making.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Reporting & Dashboards: Build and maintain financial dashboards, KPIs, and management reports to provide visibility into business performance.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses on cost drivers, revenue trends, and profitability to support leadership in making informed decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

- 6+ years of finance experience
- 2+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Can demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills
- Experience developing financial models in Excel with advanced functions (pivot tables, macros, VBA, Power Query)
