Expression of Interest: External Security Vetting Professionals

The opportunity

The EY External Security Vetting Services (ESVS) team is seeking expressions of interest from experienced external personnel security vetting practitioners to support the delivery of Australian Government security clearance assessments.

We are interested in hearing from professionals who have experience conducting security clearance assessments and interviews across a range of clearance levels, including Baseline, NV1, NV2 and/or Positive Vetting (PV).

Your key responsibilities

As part of EY's growing External Security Vetting Services team, you will contribute to the assessment of complex and sensitive security clearance matters while supporting the delivery of high-quality outcomes for Australian Government clients.

Depending on your experience, responsibilities may include:

• Conducting personnel security clearance assessments in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and agency requirements.
• Managing security clearance cases across Baseline, NV1, NV2 and PV clearance levels.
• Conducting security interviews and gathering information from clearance subjects and relevant stakeholders.
• Analysing complex and sensitive information, including employment history, financial circumstances, personal conduct, integrity matters and other relevant vetting factors.
• Preparing clear, evidence-based assessments, recommendations and case documentation.
• Managing competing priorities and maintaining performance against service delivery expectations.
• Applying quality assurance processes to vetting documentation and Personal Security Files.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining consistent application of vetting standards.

Skills and attributes for success

To be considered, candidates must have:

• Australian Citizenship.
• A current active AGSVA security clearance of NV1, NV2 or PV.
• Certificate IV in Government (Personnel Security Vetting).
• Demonstrated experience in external personnel security vetting within an Australian Government, national security or similarly regulated environment.
• Experience conducting security interviews and personnel security assessments.
• Strong understanding of Australian Government personnel security vetting frameworks, policies and standards, including the PSPF.
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking and sound judgement.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare evidence-based assessments and recommendations.
• The ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism, integrity and discretion.

Highly regarded

• Experience assessing NV2 and/or Positive Vetting clearance cases.
• Experience undertaking quality assurance reviews of vetting documentation.
• Experience managing complex or high-risk clearance matters.
• Mentoring, coaching or supporting other vetting practitioners.
• Experience working within high-security, intelligence, national security or Defence-related environments.
