About the Role
The Grade 2 Scientist provides research coordination and administrative support for clinical research undertaken within the Nephrology Research Unit. The role supports participant recruitment, study coordination, ethics and governance activities, data collection, regulatory compliance, maintenance of essential documents and communication with investigators, sponsors and study participants. The position contributes to delivery of high-quality clinical research conducted in accordance with approved protocols, International Council for Harmonisation – Good Clinical Practice (ICH-GCP), institutional policies and Australian research governance requirements. The role works closely with and supports the Research coordinator
 

Position Duties

• Support recruitment, screening, enrolment and retention of research participants. 
• Coordinate participant visits, investigations and follow-up. 
• Assist investigators in day-to-day conduct of multiple concurrent studies. 
• Maintain study schedules and ensure protocol compliance. 

Classifications for this position will range from RY4-RY7 ($94,478.80- $106,906.80 per annum, pro rata).

Your Contribution

• Bachelor’s degree in health science, Biomedical Science, Medical Science, Public Health, Clinical Research or related discipline.
• Current ICH-GCP certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in healthcare, clinical research or research administration. 
• Knowledge of research ethics, governance and Good Clinical Practice. 
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

About The Department of Nephrology

The Nephrology Service provides comprehensive care across the continuum of chronic kidney disease, from outpatient management through to haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home dialysis and kidney transplantation. The service supports metropolitan, regional and rural dialysis programs and maintains an active clinical research portfolio comprising investigator-initiated and commercial studies.
