You will perform the Senior Management Function (SMF17) Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for Deutsche Bank UK Bank Limited.
In this highly visible leadership role, you will be responsible for the oversight and management of the UK Private Bank Compliance and AFC frameworks, providing independent second line oversight, challenge and advice across regulatory compliance, conduct and financial crime risks. The role combines strategic leadership, regulatory engagement, governance oversight and people management, while supporting the ongoing growth and development of the UK Private Bank business.

Your key responsibilities
- Lead the UK Private Bank Compliance and Anti-Financial Crime functions, setting strategic direction and priorities aligned to regulatory expectations, business strategy and risk appetite.
- Act as the SMF17 (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) for Deutsche Bank UK Bank Limited, subject to regulatory approval. Undertake responsibilities delegated by the Private Bank SMF16 (Compliance Oversight).
- Advise and support the Private Bank UK business regarding regulatory obligations, conduct risk, financial crime risk and emerging regulatory developments. Serve as a primary point of contact for UK regulators regarding Financial Crime Risk matters and lead regulatory engagements, reviews and examinations where required.
- Provide effective oversight and challenge of business activities, products, services and strategic initiatives from a Compliance and AFC perspective.
- Oversee Compliance and Financial Crime Risk assessment activities, monitoring programmes, governance arrangements and remediation activities.
- Represent Compliance and AFC at Board and/or senior governance forums and provide clear reporting on key risk themes, regulatory developments and control issues.
Your skills and experience
- Currently hold, or have previously held, a UK SMF17 role, or demonstrate equivalent senior leadership experience within a regulated financial services environment.
- Demonstrate sufficient breadth of experience, technical expertise, leadership capability and regulatory credibility to support approval for, and effective performance of the SMF17 function.
- Extensive knowledge of the UK regulatory environment, including FCA and PRA expectations applicable to banking and wealth management businesses.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, conduct risk management and financial crime risk management. Demonstrable experience engaging with regulators, senior executives, Boards and governance committees.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to lead, develop and motivate high-performing teams.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to provide constructive challenge and balanced risk-based advice.
- Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
