The opportunity

Innovation doesn't happen in isolation, and neither do the incentives that support it. EY's Incentives and Capital Investments team works with organizations that are building new technologies, scaling ambitious ideas and making significant investments in their future. Our multidisciplinary team of tax, accounting, science and technology professionals helps clients access and optimize programs such as SRED, clean economy tax credits, discretionary grants and capital investment incentives.

We're seeking an experienced Manager with a software development or information technology background to help lead client engagements across Ontario. You'll collaborate with business leaders, engineers and innovators to evaluate complex technology initiatives, identify funding opportunities and develop strategies that drive investment, innovation and growth

Your key responsibilities 

• Lead incentive and innovation funding engagements for technology-focused clients across a range of industries. 
• Evaluate software development, cloud, AI and emerging technology projects for eligibility under SRED and other incentive programs. 
• Collaborate with senior technical and business leaders to develop funding strategies that support innovation and growth. 
• Translate complex technical activities into clear and defensible project documentation. 
• Manage client engagements, budgets and project delivery while providing exceptional client service. 
• Coach and develop a multidisciplinary team of technology and data professionals. 
• Build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities to expand service offerings. 
• Contribute to practice development through business development initiatives, proposals and thought leadership.

Skills and attributes for success 

• Advanced knowledge of web technologies, cloud computing, programming languages, and telecommunication technologies.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with a proven ability to consistently meet tight deadlines
• The ability to think creatively, innovate and deliver value-added solutions to client issues. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality work. 
  

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• An MBA credential is an asset.
• 5 or more years relevant experience.
• Previous practical experience with the SRED program is strongly preferred.
