Senior Applied Scientist, AWS Billing - Seattle | Amazon Job

Job Description

AWS Billing requires a Scientist with a proven track record in time-series based anomaly detection. During the billing process there are many unknown-unknowns and detecting these are vital for ensuring an accurate bill.

Key job responsibilities
You will work closely with the usage metering and bill computation teams to build anomaly detectors that can find issues in usage and invoices. You will build production models that will be the cornerstone of our efforts to ensure accurate bills.

About the team
We are a small science team that work on high-impact projects in AWS Billing. Our work is foundational for Billing's accuracy goals. We publish our results in top conferences and play an active role in academia.

Basic Qualifications:

- 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
- Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy etc.
- Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark etc.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
