Roles & Responsibilities
1.Product Vision & Strategy
•Define and own the product vision aligned with business objectives.
•Understand front-office, middle-office, and back-office workflows.
•Translate Capital Markets business needs into product roadmaps.
•Prioritize features that drive revenue, efficiency, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance.
2. Backlog Ownership & Agile Delivery
•Own and prioritize the product backlog.
•Write and maintain epics, features, and user stories.
•Define acceptance criteria.
•Participate in Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
•Make prioritization decisions based on business value and risk.
3. Capital Markets Domain Leadership
Must possess strong knowledge of one or more areas:
•Equities
•Fixed Income
•FX (Foreign Exchange)
•Derivatives
•Prime Brokerage
•Trade Lifecycle
•Clearing & Settlement
•Syndication & New Issue Processing
•Electronic Trading Platforms
Knowledge of Primary Markets, Syndication, Book Building, Fixed Income, and Equities workflows is particularly valuable in Capital Markets environments.
4. Stakeholder Management
Work closely with:
•Traders
•Sales teams
•Risk teams
•Compliance teams
•Operations
•Technology teams
•Senior business executives
The PO acts as the bridge between business and technology, ensuring business requirements are delivered correctly.
5. Regulatory & Risk Management
a Product Owner must understand:
•Market regulations
•Operational risk
•Data governance
•Audit requirements
•Model risk controls
•Regulatory reporting obligations
Ensure product features comply with internal control and regulatory standards.
6. Data & Technology Understanding
A modern Capital Markets PO is expected to understand:
•APIs
•Cloud platforms
•< span style="white-space:pre"> Data lakes
•AI/ML use cases
•RAG and GenAI solutions
•Real-time event processing
•FIX Protocol
•Kafka
•Trade messaging flows
Not necessarily hands-on coding, but strong technical fluency is required to engage effectively with engineering teams.
7. Business Analysis & Value Realization
•Gather business requirements.
•Analyze gaps in current processes.
•Define KPIs and success metrics.
•Measure adoption, productivity improvements, and business outcomes.
•Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
8. UAT & Release Management
•Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
•Validate business outcomes before production releases.
•Approve releases from a business perspective.
•Coordinate production rollouts and stakeholder communication.
Salary Range- $95,000-$105,000 a year
