Job Description:

The HSSE Advisor provides expert guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, security, and environmental performance across BP Australia's operations. This role is crucial in fostering a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide expert HSSE advice and support to operational teams, project managers, and leadership on all aspects of health, safety, security, and environmental management.

• Conduct regular HSSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions.

• Develop, implement, and monitor HSSE management systems, procedures, and programs in line with BP's global standards and local regulatory requirements.

• Lead and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the development of preventative measures to avoid recurrence.

• Deliver HSSE training and awareness programs to employees and contractors to enhance their understanding of safety protocols and procedures.

• Monitor and report on HSSE performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements.

• Ensure compliance with all applicable HSSE legislation, industry standards, and BP internal policies.

• Collaborate with external regulatory bodies, emergency services, and other stakeholders as required.

• Support the development and implementation of emergency response plans and participate in drills and exercises.

• Champion a strong safety culture through active engagement, communication, and promotion of HSSE initiatives.

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Relevant HSSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, CSP, CRSP, or equivalent).

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in HSSE roles within the oil and gas, energy, or heavy industry sectors.

• Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing HSSE management systems.

• Proven track record in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits.

• Strong knowledge of Australian HSSE legislation and regulations.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of an organization.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HSSE management software.

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
