Job Description:

Role title: Intern Pharmacist 2027

Role type: Max term contract, full time (1 year, until January 2028)

Role grade: Pharmacist (Unregistered)

Shift details: Monday to Friday plus ability to work weekends as per roster requirements

Salary: $82,253.78 + Super + Salary Packaging

About the role

Under the supervision of a Pharmacist:

  • Support the delivery of inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services, developing your clinical skills in medication management and pharmaceutical care planning

  • Develop your skills in patient counselling, medication education and the provision of drug information to patients, carers and other healthcare professionals

  • Gain hands-on experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, including the preparation of extemporaneous pharmaceuticals and applying relevant quality and safety controls

  • Participate in pharmacy practice research, including undertaking a specific research project

  • Work collaboratively within the pharmacy team, participate in weekend rosters and undertake other duties as required by the Director of Pharmacy or Deputy Director of Pharmacy

About you

  • Successful completion of a Pharmacy Degree and eligible for provisional registration with AHPRA plus eligibility to enrol in an approved Intern Training Program prior to commencement (You must upload a copy of your academic transcript as part of your application)

  • Sound knowledge of pharmacology and the ability to apply this knowledge in practical clinical situations

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively counsel patients and carers and collaborate with healthcare professionals at all levels

  • An understanding of the role of a Hospital Pharmacist, including professional, ethical and legal responsibilities, with a commitment to ongoing professional development, continuing education, quality improvement and research

  • A proactive and adaptable team player with demonstrated initiative, strong problem-solving, time management and prioritisation skills, and the ability to work independently, meet deadlines and contribute effectively within a busy team environment
