As a Program Management Manager within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX.

PNC is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Program Management Manager to lead the delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives within the Commercial & Institutional Banking (C&IB) Payments organization. This leader will drive large-scale programs that enhance payment capabilities, modernize platforms, improve client experiences, and support business growth across commercial banking and treasury management services.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the payments ecosystem, strong program leadership capabilities, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders while navigating a highly regulated financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic programs supporting the C&IB Payments organization.
• Partner with business, technology, operations, risk, compliance, and vendor teams to deliver initiatives that advance payment capabilities and operational efficiencies.
• Manage complex programs across the payments ecosystem, including:
○ Wire Transfers
○ ACH
○ Real-Time Payments (RTP)
○ FedNow
○ Embedded Finance solutions
○ Commercial Banking and Treasury Management platforms
• Drive payment modernization initiatives, including platform transformation, process optimization, digital enablement, and vendor integrations.
• Develop and maintain program roadmaps, governance frameworks, executive communications, risk management plans, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with product and operational teams to enhance merchant services, client onboarding experiences, fraud mitigation strategies, and payment operations workflows.
• Identify and manage program dependencies, risks, issues, and change impacts while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
• Provide leadership and direction to project managers and program team members, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Present program updates, strategic recommendations, and decision points to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
• Ensure initiatives comply with applicable regulatory requirements, operational controls, and risk management standards.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Program or project management experience within financial services, payments, treasury management, or commercial banking environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale programs within the C&IB or payments ecosystem.
• Strong knowledge of payment products and services, including Wire, ACH, Real-Time Payments, and commercial banking platforms.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving technology, operations, product, and business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex programs simultaneously while driving measurable business outcomes.
• Excellent communication, executive presentation, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
• Deep understanding of merchant services, client onboarding processes, fraud prevention strategies, and payment operations.
• Experience supporting payment modernization, digital transformation, or platform migration initiatives.
• Familiarity with third-party payment vendors and fintech partnerships.
• Working knowledge of industry standards and regulatory frameworks. (SWIFT,ISO 20022, FedNow; Payment risk and control frameworks)
• Experience within Commercial & Institutional Banking, Treasury Management, or Payments organizations preferred.

Job Description

  • Manages and leads program managers to ensure success in the execution of organizational programs in support of corporate strategy. No requirement for program size.
  • Manages and assesses the general and detailed planning stages of organizational programs; participates in the development of strategies to ensure projects achieve overall program goals.
  • Oversight and reporting for the overall program budget while working to ensure success of the program.
  • Monitors and evaluates the implementation and effectiveness of the programs and recommends enhancements based on results.
  • Coaches and develops program managers. Retains and grows relationships with service partner leadership to ensure seamless delivery and a consistent experience across multiple distribution channels.
