Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
•Strong hands-on experience with Java and object-oriented design
•Experience designing and building cloud-native applications
•Practical experience with AWS services and architecture
•Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms such as SQS, SNS, Kafka, or EventBridge
•Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
•Experience with microservices or distributed service-oriented systems
•Experience with Docker and container-based development
•Strong understanding of software engineering best practices including testing, code reviews, and CI/CD
•Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments
•Strong problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
•Ability to define detailed design and translate requirements into technical solutions
•Familiarity with security best practices, IAM, encryption, and secrets management
•Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
•Define detailed technical design
oTranslate business and architecture requirements into clear, implementable low-level designs
oProduce design documentation, interface contracts, and technical estimates
•Design and develop cloud-native applications
oBuild scalable, resilient, and maintainable services using Java and AWS
oApply modern architecture patterns for distributed systems and enterprise platforms
•Develop event-driven and API-based solutions
oDesign and implement asynchronous workflows using event-driven architecture
oBuild secure, well-documented APIs and service integrations
•Work with serverless and containerized workloads
oDevelop solutions using AWS Lambda, containers, and orchestration platforms such as ECS or EKS
oChoose the right runtime model based on performance, scale, and cost considerations
•Implement distributed system best practices
oEnsure reliability, fault tolerance, observability, and scalability
oAddress concerns such as retries, idempotency, latency, and consistency
•Collaborate across teams and roles
oPartner with architects, product managers, and technical team members to shape technical solutions
oContribute to design reviews and key design decision-making
oPartner with Quality Assurance engineer to plan, develop, automate, and execute software testing
•Follow engineering best practices
oWrite clean, testable, and maintainable code.
oLeverage available AI based coding tools.
oParticipate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and release processes
•Support application performance and operations
oMonitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production systems
oInvestigate defects, incidents, and performance issues in collaboration with support and operations teams
•Ensure security and compliance
oFollow secure coding practices and cloud security standards
oApply least-privilege access, secrets management, and data protection controls
•Mentor and guide team members
oShare technical knowledge and support junior and mid-level engineers
oHelp raise the overall engineering quality of the team
•Non-functional Requirements:
Ensure all developed software meets non-functional requirements such as security, scalability, maintainability, performance, and compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Salary Range: $130,000 to $150,000 per year
