This is an opportunity to contribute to complex, meaningful projects—from concept through production—while collaborating with cross‑functional experts in a dynamic, innovation‑driven environment.

You’ll work on the design and development of critical transformer components, applying your creativity and technical expertise to solve real‑world challenges in performance, reliability, manufacturability, and sustainability. Whether advancing cutting‑edge cooling solutions or optimizing structural integrity, your work will directly support the delivery of safe, efficient, and future‑ready energy systems.

At Hitachi Energy, curiosity is encouraged, ideas are valued, and continuous improvement is part of everyday work. If you thrive on technical challenges and want to make a tangible difference in the energy transition, this is your chance to grow your career in a collaborative and forward‑thinking environment.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Support manufacturing teams with technical guidance and design improvements
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and FMEA activities
  • Collaborate with suppliers on material selection and component validation
  • Contribute to testing, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvement
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally in transformers or heavy equipment
  • Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication methods, and mechanical design principles
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, or Inventor
  • Familiarity with industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, CSA)
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving and attention to detail
