The Local Shops team in India is looking for a Senior Category Manager to own and drive scale-up of categories and critical customer-focused initiatives. The person who joins this team must share our passion and commitment for serving customers while also making Local Shops a preferred fulfilment channel for Heavy & Bulky and Emerging whitespaces categories. She/he must be able to balance thinking big, working with ambiguity while driving speed of experimentation. We are looking for self-starters with strong analytical skills and result-orientation who can make and execute independent, data-driven decisions and work with senior stakeholders across borders, both internally and externally.

In this role, the candidate will be responsible for launching and scaling whitespace categories on Local Shops. The candidate will partner with seller acquisition, category and account management teams to onboard amenable sellers and selection to the program. The candidate will actively collaborate with other stakeholders like Finance, Product & Advertising teams to align initiatives to identify potential growth avenues and drive seller success.

Key job responsibilities
• Formulating long term road map for the categories the person is responsible for.
• Engage with internal and external customers/teams to improve products and business processes.
• Identify specific prospects/partners to approach, communicate the specific value proposition for their business and use case, and establish long-term, successful partnerships.
• Develop strategy to acquire sellers across focus categories

Basic Qualifications:

- Master's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing
- 7+ years of account management, project or program management or buying experience
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
- Experience driving internal cross-team collaboration
- Experience with business analysis and P&L management

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
