The Government Invoicing Solutions (GIS) team is hiring Software Development Engineers to work in our Software Development Center in São Paulo. Within GIS, the Amazon Invoicer team builds the solution that allows Amazon programs to offer seller partners an easy way to delegate e-invoice issuance to Amazon — generating and authorizing e-invoices to keep transactions in compliance with local authorities.

The key value proposition of Invoicer is removing the burden from partners joining Amazon Programs. Instead of investing technical effort to set up their own services or onboarding third-party providers, sellers and vendors get invoicing embedded directly into each transaction, simplifying and speeding up their ability to take advantage of each program.

A Software Development Engineer (SDE) at Amazon works on real world problems on a global scale, owns their systems end to end and influences the direction of our technology that impacts hundreds of millions of customers around the world.

- Design and implement highly scalable distributed systems that process millions of transactions

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science
- Experience in building production software
- Experience in English-language communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in one of the following programming languages: Java, Python, Ruby, Node.js, C#, or C
- Experience working with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Experience in technical support, or experience driving collaborative projects from conception to delivery
- Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
