The opportunity
The internal Legal Department supports the executive management of the group as well as the different business units, in all matters of commercial, corporate, and civil law. In addition the internal Legal Department provides advice on regulatory issues, ensures the follow-up of litigation and coordination with outside counsel and manages specific legal projects.
Function
As a member of a small legal team, you will be working with and reporting to the General Counsel. Your main responsibilities will be:
- To draft, review and negotiate a broad range of agreements (including contracts with clients and suppliers, NDA’s, consortium agreements, IT agreements real estate agreements, …);
- Provide support to the M&A projects;
- Provide legal support for EY internal functions such as sales, marketing, finance and control, IT, Facilities in a national and international context.
You will be expected to quickly integrate in the team, build up your internal network throughout the organization and closely collaborate with all colleagues involved in the matters where your assistance is required. You will guide and counsel the more junior team members.
Profile
- You have a master degree in law;
- You have at least 10 years of working experience gained at the corporate or commercial department of a law firm or as in-house counsel;
- You are fluent in English, Dutch and French.
- You are most definitely a team player, eager to learn from and work with your colleagues;
- You have a keen interest in the business aspects of the issues you are confronted with;
- You aim at striking the proper balance between legal constraints and business requirements.
