What You Will Do:
This position will support the Emergency Care business. We make life saving devices for life saving customers. Our systems are some of the more complex systems in the medical device industry.
Systems Engineers provide critical product and project leadership. They play roles in all aspects of a product lifecycle from Concept through Market Release and Sustaining. During the Concept Phase, Systems Engineers work to understand stakeholder needs and clinical use. They translate those needs to system and product architecture. During Development, Systems Engineers are responsible for ensuring the design meets the user needs through requirements identification and requirements decomposition. They achieve results using a variety of system engineering techniques such as: traceability, architecture, modeling, trade studies, simulation, and budgeting. Systems Engineers are also responsible for ensuring the systems integrates.
This position will be joining a high-performance team that uses advanced systems engineering techniques. The team is about to embark on a significant expansion in our Model-based Systems Engineering Capability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Translate user needs to system requirements
- Write effective system and product requirements
- Modify/Create system architectures for simple product or feature
- Actively contribute to discussions and decisions
- Support Concept Development under direction of lead engineers
- Ensure concepts address all stakeholders
- Actively contribute to Risk Management
- Demonstrate understanding of customer needs and product's intended use
- Allocate and decompose requirements to lower level sub-systems or component, using modeling, simulation, budgeting, and mathematical techniques
- Follow fundamental industry standards, design requirements and test strategies which apply to regulatory requirements
- Provide impact assessment of design changes
What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (biomedical, software, electrical, or mechanical)
- 2+ years of experience doing any of the following:
- Software, electrical, or mechanical engineering in the medical device industry, or
- Systems engineering in a regulated industry
- Experience in a variety of projects and skills in a regulated industry
- Excellent communication skills with experience solving problems and balancing multiple competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 and ISO 14971
- Familiarity with Object-Oriented Systems Engineering methods and tools
- Familiarity with Requirements Management Tools, especially Jama
- $86k - $138k salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
