What this opportunity involves: 

We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Specialty Mall Leasing Executive to join our team in Victoria. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of the Specialty Mall Leasing (SML) budget by securing appropriate clients that align with the client's presentation standards and income expectations. You will work closely with internal client representatives, centre teams, and marketing managers to optimize the client mix and achieve leasing targets.

An overview of the role:  

  • Conduct regular competitor centre visits to stay up-to-date with market trends and competitors.
  • Collaborate with the SML team to share knowledge and trends across the SML properties portfolio.
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of competitors and assist in resolving any issues related to presentation standards.
  • Conduct regular reviews and meetings to monitor and report on the performance of the SML business line.
  • Ensure compliance with casual lease rules and regulations, oversee administration coordinator, and monitor payments and agreements.
  • Assist in organising and conducting market research for business planning.
  • Maintain and update the SML database to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Facilitate communication between centre teams and retailers to optimize occupancy of SML spaces.
  • Participate in risk management and staff training programs.
  • Communicate with clients to ensure their understanding of SML and the achieved results.
  • Negotiate casual leases while considering budgets, tenancy mix, availability, and merchandise mix goals.
  • Visit all centres regularly and liaise with internal client representatives to maintain strong communication.
  • Apply effective marketing strategies within budgetary constraints to attract casual leasing opportunities.
  • Stay informed about new trends and products to grow current business or expand to additional locations.
  • Provide market rental assessments and advice to clients.
  • Seek out new retailers/casual lessees and stay updated on market changes by visiting competitor shopping centres.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of conversations and agreements.
  • Actively prospect new opportunities and report the results.
  • Attend relevant functions and events to drive awareness and generate business leads.
  • Maintain a national presence to stay updated on market trends and review on-site rollouts.

  • Previous experience in mall leasing or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the retail market and leasing practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, centre teams, and retailers.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to meet and exceed leasing targets.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficient in database management and MS Office.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations as required.
