What you will do:
As the Staff Engineer, Advanced Operations (AO), you will execute the innovation and development of assigned project elements with an emphasis on the manufacturing process, technology, and procedures required to manufacture new products. Throughout the project, you will use the latest engineering techniques to reduce product time to market while adhering to regulatory requirements, project deadlines, and product costs. This role is located in Portage, MI.
- Work with a team to design and develop the manufacturing fixtures and equipment, assembly lines, and manufacturing procedures
- Work with vendors and suppliers to acquire production equipment
- Conduct advanced problem-solving, identify potential solutions, and evaluate them against component and sub-system requirements
- Ac as onsite go-to contact for transferring the production line from the R&D team to the Operations Team
- Collaborate with R&D, AO Teammates, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to ensure project success
- Support and execute segments of complex product development to advance projects through the design /development/launch process
- Identify and support the creation of or improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology
- Contribute to product development from concept through release
- Deliver high-quality results with passion, energy, and drive to meet business priorities
- Build relationships and influence across the engineering groups within the business
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, required
- 4+ years of experience, required
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, product, and process design, preferred
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have the ability to understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing, preferred
- Experience in an FDA-regulated or regulated industry, preferred
