Responsible for guiding the learning of students in classrooms and/or clinical settings. Assigned to teach the courses for which they are qualified by education, certification, and professional experience. Instructional duties include developing courses and curricula, didactic and clinical teaching, and evaluating students and courses. Related duties include academic advising of students, supervision of independent study projects, maintaining weekly office hours, attending meetings, serving on committees, and participation in college career events and the school graduation. - Provides regular and timely feedback to students, including the return of written assignments.
- Documents student performance deficiencies in writing to the student as soon as identified.
- Completes formative and summative evaluation reports on student achievement of learning objectives according to school’s policy, licensing body requirements, and the department’s protocols.
- Evaluates courses and instructional performance at least annually.
EDUCATION:
- Completion of an accredited program in applicable topics.
DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC EDUCATION:
Mills-Peninsula School of Diagnostic Imaging:
- Completion of a JRCERT accredited program in Radiologic Technology or discipline specific
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
- Certification or licensure required for subject area
- ARRT, ARDMS
DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
Mills-Peninsula School of Diagnostic Imaging:
- California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) R and Fluoroscopy if teaching fluoroscopy ( if teaching radiology topics) If teaching non-radiology topics, not required
- Certification by the American Registration (ARRT)
- BLS certificate for healthcare providers from American Heart Association
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years recent relevant clinical and teaching experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to access course outcomes and student learning.
- Basic competency with Microsoft Office products and familiarity with a learning management system.
- Basic computer skills.
- Curriculum and course development.
