Sr. Analyst, Rights and Commercial Affairs, Distribution Planning & Analysis
Disney Platform Distribution is a business unit within Disney Entertainment that manages all third-party media sales efforts for distribution, affiliate marketing and affiliate-related business operations for all of the Company's direct-to-consumer services and linear media networks; content sales agreements for General Entertainment, Studios and Sports; as well as global theatrical film distribution; management of Disney’s iconic El Capitan Theatre and the Disney Music Group.
This person will assist the Rights & Commercial Affairs team with first-party and third-party content distribution deal negotiations and track key deal terms across Disney Content Sales and Disney Direct-To-Consumer services.
Responsibilities:
Support management of talent consultations & approvals, including recording and tracking all such requirements, and coordinating and preparing materials for approvals and consultations on domestic and international licensing activity, editing, branding, promotion and marketing
Review rights and deal terms for intercompany content licenses
Support content distribution deal negotiations for domestic broadcast syndication and other domestic television medias
Assist legal with guild and participation audits and work with various internal stakeholders to prepare licensing history reports to fulfill information requests
Support deal negotiations for acquisitions and extensions of distribution rights agreements
Draft and redline term sheets and other legal agreements
Summarize legal agreements on an ad hoc basis for deal analysis team, senior management, audits and finance
Track standard language and positions with respect to corporate policies and licensing parameters (e.g., standard language for term-sheets and contracts), and content security and utility parameters
Track key deal terms across domestic markets (e.g., rights grants, MFNs, usage rules, expirations, rights of first refusal, etc.)
Required experience:
2+ years in the media & entertainment industry with experience in legal, business affairs, or negotiating content license agreements
Strong facility with interpretation and analysis of contracts, and basic contractual drafting
Experience developing and enforcing legal and sales support processes and policies
Proven ability to work and collaborate across various functional divisions
Preferred experience:
J.D., paralegal certificate (or equivalent) and/or experience in legal/business affairs/content licensing at a Major Studio preferred
Strong familiarity with digital content platforms/distributors preferred
Prior experience with rights management and legal databases (e.g., Rightsline, NetDocs) preferred

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $92,700 - $113,300 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Job Posting Segment:
