Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP) is located in Putting Kahoy, Silang, Cavite, Philippines, in Laguna – 50 kilometers or about an hour's drive by car from Manila. The 165-hectare University is on an elevated area overlooking Laguna de Bay. A sixty-kilometer stretch of the Laguna Lake, the majestic Mount Makiling range, and an overview of a beautiful canyon comprise what one Adventist educator has termed "the million-dollar view" of AUP. The site is just 30 minutes away from Tagaytay City—acclaimed to be one of the country's most relaxed and most beautiful cities. From the expressway, motorists pass through the Sta. Rosa exit before turning right to travel along the road that the Coca-Cola Bottlers plant to the Laguna Technopark and Nuvali, the Ayala of the South.
AUP is a residential campus. Our mission is to provide holistic quality Seventh-day Adventist Christian education in a nurturing environment of campus living. The University has made a concerted effort and remains committed to making residential living comfortable. AUP affirms the values gained from being primarily a residential or boarding school. Upon admission, a new student agrees to live in a residential hall unless covered by exemptions. New students who are generally and mostly minors must begin their year in the residence halls inside the University.
Several professional and cultural organizations on campus actively seek to enrich the classroom's work and provide opportunities for leadership and worthwhile social experience. Each student is urged to participate in several religious organizations and maintain membership in one or more clubs. For his/her professional club, the student is expected to naturally choose the one in line with his/her future vocation or primary field. Club membership is optional, and the program provides a regular meeting time. Club constitutions are subject to the approval of the Student Affairs Committee.
Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP) is an institution of higher learning operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. However, it accepts application from individuals irrespective of race, color, sex, and religious affiliation, whose manner of acting, feeling, and thinking are in harmony with the objectives, values, and beliefs of the institution and whose capacities and abilities show the possibility of achieving a satisfactory scholastic record. Although church membership is not a pre-requisite for admission, applicants are expected to abide by the university's rules and regulations. To qualify for admission, applicants must give evidence of good moral character, intellectual capacity, good health, financial capability, and a desire to learn. Admission to the University is a privilege and not a right.

SDA Education is a unique system with distinctive features. These features should be studied prayerfully and carefully to understand how to implement them properly in SDA schools. Their incorporation into the school program should be hastened that God may bountifully bless the administration, staff, and students with unprecedented spiritual and educational progress. While many of these features have been included in SDA schools, others are not apparent.
Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP) traces its roots and humble beginnings to the missionary-oriented people who had a strong desire to develop young people for usefulness in life, more specifically in preparing efficient workers for the different Christian branches service and ultimately for citizenship in the kingdom of God.
The ever-multiplying number of PUC enrollment has inspired the administration to purchase yet a more significant property, which comprises 165 hectares of land located at Putting Kahoy, Silang, Cavite in 1972. The same missionary spirit that inspired the pioneers in the past has stimulated the administrators, faculty, and students to work hard, sacrifice time, energy, and effort leaving behind the conveniences of life in the city to move to the new PUC' mountain' location. The year 1979 saw the first batch of newcomers and sophomore students in this new campus, and, in 1981, with the movement of the juniors and seniors from Baesa, the campus transfer was completed.
"Shine on Forever, Dear AUP," a compelling command that knows no limit, keeps inspiring the university leaders, workers, and students from all over the world to strive harder to reach the heights of excellence. Students continuously top the board exams and the other academic competitive tests, which helped pave the way for the University to acquire Deregulated Status on October 22, 2001, and to eventually be awarded an Autonomous Status on October 27, 2003, for its meritorious achievement in the provision of instruction, research, community extension services, high performance of graduates in licensure examinations and for maintaining a tradition of integrity, excellence, and untarnished reputation in the educational service. On March 7, 2009, the Commission on Higher Education had again awarded AUP renewal of its Autonomous Status from March 2009 to March 2014.
