Ranney School, an Age 3-Grade 12 independent, co-ed, secular college preparatory school based in Tinton Falls, NJ. Our school serves a diverse body of students from across Monmouth & Ocean Counties. At Ranney, we know and value every student to offer a balance of challenge and support so that every child can reach their fullest personal potential at every stage of their educational journey. Ranney's innovative curriculum fosters creative thinking. Our nurturing community supports student success. We offer a robust student life program that encourages students to pursue not just one but many interests while at Ranney School.
Ranney's rigorous course of study is forward-thinking, flexible, and relevant. As an accredited independent school, Ranney is not governed by specific state laws or testing requirements that determine what or how we must teach. Ranney is free to design curricula and co-curricular activities that are mission-based and responsive to the needs of our students and society as a whole. Ranney maintains a commitment to excellence in traditional subjects while continually seeking out ways to ensure our curriculum is at the cutting edge. We also strive to ensure that our students have opportunities to apply their learning across disciplines.
Meaningful relationships are the hallmark of the Ranney experience. In every division, small classes and faculty teams balance appropriate challenge and support, guided by each student's needs. Faculty develop mentoring relationships with students that often go beyond the curriculum. Students and parents receive regular feedback from faculty through detailed report cards, bi-annual teacher/advisory conferences, and informal meetings and outreach. Student peers celebrate each other's unique gifts and offer encouragement. As a result, students can be themselves and take risks.
We see the value of a Ranney education reflected in the accomplishments of our alumni. Ranney graduates attend the nation's most selective colleges and universities and go on to become physicians, attorneys, entrepreneurs, professors, authors, designers, engineers, and professional musicians. Our graduates are leaders in modern, global society.
We envision Ranney School as a nurturing learning community where families, faculty, alumni, and all of Ranney's constituents collaborate to distinguish and value every child, foster individual talents, sustain powerful connections between children and adults, and graduate resilient, globally-minded citizens. Our mission is to nurture intellectual curiosity and confidence to inspire students to lead honorably, think creatively, and contribute meaningfully to society.
We continue to foster an inclusive community that supports a spectrum of cultures, beliefs, and talents to promote all community members' intellectual growth and moral development. We are inspired by an awareness and appreciation for diversity, human dignity, and interpersonal acceptance.
As an independent day school, Ranney's raison d'etre is its students — our ultimate goal, as educators, as an institution, is to ensure each student is nurtured and challenged to reach his or her full potential. We balance excellence in traditional subjects with a quest to provide our students with an innovative curriculum that will prepare our students for college and the increasing dynamism of the world.
Our faculty are at the heart of our school. They care deeply about the success and development of every child. Our faculty take the time to understand each student's strengths, challenges, fears, and dreams. In every division, students are supported by a team of educators who collaborate to nurture academic and extracurricular success and personal growth. More than 60% of our faculty have advanced degrees. All of our faculty engage in ongoing professional development to ensure they bring our students the best every day.
Both extracurricular and extracurricular activities allow students to experience classroom lessons with hands-on, interactive experiences. Ranney's Advisory Program builds meaningful student-teacher relationships, providing the guidance and mentorship that help students explore all of their interests and ambitions, achieve proficiency in all subjects, build character/empathy, and develop the strong friendships so characteristic of the Ranney community. And when the time comes, with the College Counseling Office staff's support and expertise, students are more than ready to meet the challenges of college life and beyond. Our students mature with character, confidence, and courage 100% of our graduates attend four-year schools, including some of the most selective colleges and military academies in the nation and prominent international universities.
