Located in Front Royal, VA, R-MA is an independent co-ed day and boarding school for students in grades 6-12. We do more than prepare our students for college. We give them a solid foundation in Knowledge, Leadership, and Character. We inspire the Rise within them as we help them build their confidence, develop leadership skills, and discover a new potential level.
With smaller classes--on average, 14-17 students per class--students at R-MA find themselves challenged. This is true for the academically advanced students and those who have to work hard for their grades. We can challenge our students while still building their confidence because our teachers care about each individual.
The results: the class of 2019 earned over $5.1 million in college merit scholarships! R-MA graduates are now enrolled in the Air Force Academy, University of Virginia, Northwestern University, MIT, Penn State, Virginia Tech, and other top colleges. In the Air Force Junior ROTC program, students learn to be good citizens and great leaders. A military school provides structure to the students' daily lives; it also helps them develop confidence and self-discipline, both of which aid them in their academic studies. Vision is to making Leaders who Will Improve Humanity. The mission is to inspire the RISE Within.

The R-MA Middle School helps students rise academically through classes that are both engaging and challenging, with supportive and available teachers. The goal is to have students develop the skills that allow them to think critically, creatively, and often collaboratively in the classroom. Teachers are the facilitators in a room that is led by student questions and discussions.
At Randolph-Macon Academy's Upper School, we combine the best parts of a college-prep boarding school and a military school. What does it mean to be a college-prep military boarding school? It means that 100% of our graduating students earn acceptance to four-year colleges or universities. It means that students in grades 9-12 learn self-discipline in a safe, structured environment.
