Welcome to St. John's – a faith community formed in the tradition of educational innovator St. John Baptist de La Salle. St. John's has become synonymous with quality, diversity, leadership, and service throughout the years. All St. John's programming derives from our Lasallian mission to learn from and serve one another. What makes Catholic education in the Lasallian tradition exciting and unique is that it emphasizes holistic personal growth and innovative thinking, strengthening and continually transforming the school community. Viewing today's world through a Lasallian lens creates compassionate, forward-thinking individuals prepared to excel and make meaningful contributions to the greater community.
In November 2015, we unveiled the 20-year vision for St. John's – a vision that encompasses both the facilities our students require and a forward-thinking curriculum to secure their success in college and life. One aspect of the master plan, launched in the fall of 2015, was the new Entrepreneurial Center for Innovation and Leadership, a one-of-kind four-year curriculum at the high school level. Built upon the success of our alumni and St. John's core values of leadership and service, our students have the extraordinary opportunity to develop their creative and innovative thinking skills further.
Furthermore, in May 2017, the first phase of the master plan was completed. The new facilities include the Donatelli Center for the Visual and Performing Arts, a 15,000-square-foot space that includes renovated and expanded professional art studios, classrooms, individual practice rooms, and elevator access to the Cap Mona Family Student Center and Gleaner Courtyard, which provide multiple places for our students to gather as a community to create, explore their passions and put their faith into action the black box theater complex, which encompasses a director's office, dressing rooms, storage and the Gene Morrill Black Box Theater for small, intimate rehearsals and performances and the Lasallian Center for Mission and Ministry, which supports our ever-expanding Christian service and retreat programs with a shared student lounge, conference room, and private offices.
Faithful to the charism of St. John Baptist de La Salle, St. John's College High School is an independent, Catholic preparatory school whose mission is to provide quality education to young men and women from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
St. John's is a community of faith and zeal, which seeks to respond to youth's needs through Christian education. At the core of the St. John's community are dedicated Lasallian educators committed to the students' academic, spiritual, cultural, and physical development. Rooted in Christian values, the Lasallian experience prepares young men and women for lives dedicated to leadership, achievement, and service to the community.
At St. John's, the enthusiasm students have for their school is found in classrooms and clubs, on stage, in concert, and on athletic fields. Because of its size, St. John's offers ample opportunities to get involved through various clubs and other extracurricular activities. By graduation, nearly every student has participated in at least one sport and at least one club. The experiences outside the classroom help our students develop lasting friendships. Also, involvement in extracurricular activities strengthens students' sense of community.
