Located on nearly 1,200 scenic acres in Inland Southern California and distinguished by more than 60 years of high-impact research, UCR is a living laboratory for exploring issues critical to growing communities. One of the most diverse, inclusive institutions within the prestigious ten campus University of California system, UCR, serves as an incubator of new knowledge, an engine of social mobility, and an economic powerhouse.
UCR's three colleges offer a wide range of academic and research subjects: The Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering, with nine departments The College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, with 20 departments and the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences, with 13 departments. We are home to four professional schools: School of Business, Graduate School of Education, School of Medicine, and School of Public Policy, as well as 23 interdisciplinary research centers.
Currently home to approximately 23,000 students and 1,100 institutional faculty, the campus is rapidly expanding. To support the addition of hundreds of new faculty and students, the first of two Multidisciplinary Research Buildings are already under construction. New campus student housing, dining, retail, and recreational facilities will be added in the next few years.
UCR is also within easy driving distance of dozens of major cultural and recreation sites and desert, mountain, and coastal destinations.

At the graduate level, UCR opened the first public school of Medicine on the U.S. West Coast in more than 40 years and launched a new School of Public Policy to benefit Inland Southern California residents.

At UCR, 86% of undergraduate students receive financial aid, and 70% of those who receive aid have their full fees covered by grants and scholarships. UCR students who borrow federal loans graduate with an average student loan debt of $21,500 – just 1/5 of the total tuition and housing cost.

It's the campus store and KUCR, our non-commercial radio station that fills campus with music. International Affairs acts as a catalyst to advance UC Riverside's global engagement. By working with academic units to infuse a global dimension into teaching, research and engagement, International Affairs serves as a prism that illuminates UCR's impact on the world. Education Abroad advises and supports students on outbound international programs and facilitates faculty-led education abroad programs at UC Riverside.
International Students and Scholars advises, supports, and guides international students and international faculty at UCR. The ISS office also offers programs to successfully integrate into the UCR community and adapt to life in the United States.
