UT Southwestern, one of the premier academic medical centers in the nation, integrates pioneering biomedical research with exceptional clinical care and education. The institution’s faculty includes many distinguished members, including six who have been awarded Nobel Prizes since 1985. The faculty of almost 2,800 is responsible for groundbreaking medical advances and is committed to translating science-driven research quickly to new clinical treatments. UT Southwestern physicians provide medical care in about 70 specialties to more than 105,000 hospitalized patients and oversee approximately 2.4 million outpatient visits a year.

The UT Southwestern Medical Center Office of Admissions, a team within Student and Alumni Affairs, is delighted that you are considering one of our academic programs. Applications must be made through the Texas Medical and Dental Schools Application Service (TMDSAS). Admission to UT Southwestern Medical School is determined by an Admission Committee appointed by the Dean of the Medical School, comprising faculty members from basic science and clinical departments. A personal interview is required and is initiated by an invitation from the Admissions Committee.
The Office of Financial Aid at UT Southwestern Medical Center administers scholarships, grants, federal and institutional student loans for the Medical School, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and the School of Health Professions. To be eligible for financial assistance, students must be accepted for admission or enrolled in good standing and making satisfactory academic progress.
Student life at UT Southwestern Medical Center is exciting and busy, and there are a variety of resources available to help students settle in and stay on track. In this website area, you will find resources and information about UT Southwestern for prospective and current students.
Part of UT Southwestern’s mission is to provide lifelong learning opportunities for health care professionals. Continuing medical education (CME) courses offered through UT Southwestern’s Office of Continuing Medical Education helps us keep physicians, Ph.D.s, and allied health professionals at the leading edge of medicine.
Each year, thousands of healthcare professionals participate in UT Southwestern’s CME Office activities, such as seminars, workshops, teleconferences, and self-directed learning offerings, among others.
