EduCativPosted October 18, 2020SharePosted October 18, 2020 Madame Emma Hart Willard founded her school based on providing girls with a first-class education that challenged, inspired, and enabled them to serve and shape their worlds. More than 200 years later, Emma Willard School proudly continues to carry on this mission. Honoring our founder's vision, Emma Willard School proudly fosters in each young woman a love of learning, intellectual life habits, and the character, moral strength, and qualities of leadership to serve and shape her world. Our curriculum helps you focus your future aspirations and equips you with the interdisciplinary knowledge competitive colleges are looking for. We offer over 140 courses, including Advanced Placement in all disciplines, and provide opportunities for you to pursue an interest through our personalized study programs, Practicum and Signature. Courses at Emma range from .25 units to 1.5 units. Each Emma Girl's journey is as unique as she is, allowing her to meet all graduation requirements while maintaining control over her choices. Service Learning provides an opportunity for students to connect their classroom learning to their ability to create positive change globally, thus empowering them in their educational journeys. Service-learning is done for both effect and intellect and allows students to develop deep, long-lasting connections to the material. The skills and knowledge students acquire in the classroom become the applied tools through which authentic community needs are explored and met. Education at Emma is not limited to the classroom—it is woven into our community's fabric. With girls from around the world and across the United States and faculty and staff with a wide breadth of life experiences, you will broaden your perspective the moment you walk onto campus. Bonds created between Emma Girls in the residence and dining halls while practicing for an athletics match or arts performance, at one of our many cherished traditions, and all the little moments in between, define many girls' Emma experience. Education is one of the most powerful gifts you can give a girl. When you give to Emma, you honor our fearless founder's legacy and allow Emma Willard School to offer incomparable educational experiences for tomorrow's leaders, and in many cases, make their time here possible.View full schoolQuoteLink to commentShare on other sitesMore sharing options...
