Colorado Academy approaches education with a philosophy rooted in ideals and intention and with academic challenges balanced by support and encouragement. Our purpose reaches beyond knowledge to inspire in students the desire to think, create, and innovate – developing their abilities and desires to educate themselves beyond the limits of formal education and encouraging them to view learning as a life-long endeavor.
We know we've succeeded when a CA student has the confidence to experiment, think independently, and work cooperatively the tools to discover, analyze, and interpret the world the sensitivity to be an informed and reflective local and global citizen and the character to be prepared for success in a college or university commensurate with their interests and abilities.

We offer an innovative and rigorous curriculum rooted in the liberal arts and sciences. We do it with innovation and creativity and by encouraging students to think outside the box. We do it with an incredible staff of dedicated teachers who spark students' intellectual curiosity. We want students to ask "why" and also to have the freedom and courage to ask, "why not."
We are a school that understands that a child's formative years are profoundly crucial to who they become. We push students to grow as artists and athletes. We encourage their development through inclusivity and service to others, and we ask them to take a hard look at their strength of character…to test and discover their mettle. One student described CA as "a small school made up of big people" – people with big hearts, enormous ability, and unbridled promise.
Education is a uniquely human endeavor that must continuously evolve to meet each new group of students' needs, yet, at CA, our continued relevance in education also honors and balances private education and independent schools' traditions. We are fortunate to have experienced and devoted leadership, continued involvement from former heads of school and faculty, and remarkable alumni.
Colorado Academy is a community that values and honors differences. It seeks to be a place where students of all ages and families of all backgrounds are understood, represented, and highly regarded. Many people visit our campus and immediately notice our welcoming atmosphere, engaged and engaging students, and the multi-age interaction fostered through our Pre-K through 12 student body. Colorado Academy has undertaken a broad-reaching project to identify the defining and desired characteristics of our community. Parents, students, faculty, staff, and alumni have been integral to this work. Our culture project is focused on creating a group of students who are open to learning, change, failure, and improvement, and who have had a significant opportunity to practice these skills.
