Western International University® (West) provides a broad educational foundation, including a focus on business and technology, designed to prepare students for leadership positions in a dynamic, global marketplace.

Even foundational courses at West help you build core skills that will prove useful both at West and throughout your career. What you learn in many of your classes may be applied to the marketplace or your current job. We call on experienced industry professionals and key faculty members to align our programs with career trends. We regularly evaluate our programs to be sure our program offerings are aligned with the marketplace's needs.

At Western International University® (West), we strive to provide a more affordable, more manageable way for all working adults to earn a quality university degree.
In 1978, Western International University® (West) was born in response to a vast, unmet need in the United States: Quality post-secondary education for adults. Though we began as a campus-based university in Phoenix, Arizona, we evolved rapidly better to fit our working adult student body's needs, introducing online classes in addition to our on-ground classes. West continued to fine-tune its approach to online education and was among the first to offer synchronous online classroom sessions combined with recorded sessions. In 2013, more than 89% of our students attended West online.
Today, we are at the forefront of another revolution. As our nation faces new challenges around higher education, we have re-engineered our offerings again. We have streamlined our programs, aligning them directly with fast-growing career fields: Accounting, Business, Information Technology, and Behavioral Science.* We have improved our course delivery model, making it not just more manageable but more affordable for people to achieve their educational goals and help advance their careers.
