Mogilev Technological Institute is a unique higher educational establishment of the Republic of Belarus that trains production engineers, mechanical engineers, and economists in food, food processing, and chemical industry fields in 13 specialties and 19 specializations. Specialists in the Master Degree study course are trained in 10 specialties. There is also Postgraduate study and Institution of doctoral candidacy. The Council for Ph.D. and doctoral thesis defense was set up. Institute of Advancing the Qualification and Retraining Specialists retrains higher education specialists in 9 specialties in the field of economy and technology and conducts short-term extension courses.

Scientific and innovation activities are carried out within the framework of the fundamental scientific directions corresponding to the type of training specialists and priority areas of the Republic of Belarus. Since 2008 the University has realized foreign citizens training in full-time and correspondence forms of education.

The University was awarded an international certificate of the quality management system of Belarusian (STB ISO 9001-2009) and German standard (DIN EN ISO 9001: 2008). It was accredited as a scientific organization (certificate number 145 of 27.04.2012).

Scientific priorities of Mogilev Technological Institute are as follows:

  1. Development of new effective food technologies and competitive products of mass, functional, and prophylactic purposes with high quality and safety indicators on the basis of local food raw materials.
  2. Studies on the processes of food and chemical production, properties of substances and materials, and working out new high-performance apparatus and machines for food and chemical industries.
  3. Synthesis and thermodynamics of organic and inorganic compounds, studies, development, enhancement, and optimization of technologies for new polymer and composite materials with high-performance properties.
  4. Economic problems of processing industries of agro-industrial complex and social and political problems of the society.

The Mogilev State University of Food Technologies offers: joint scientific projects, contracts with enterprises, working out of technologies with the statement of necessary technological documents and legal, technical certificates (specifications, operating procedures, formulae) for food industry enterprises of the Republic of Belarus in the following directions:

THE INSTITUTE OF ADVANCING QUALIFICATION AND RETRAINING SPECIALISTS is a structural unit of the University and provides training in the following programs of additional education of adults:

Extension Courses are carried out for the executives and specialists in baking, confectionery, macaroni products, meat, dairy, fruit, and vegetable processing industries, brewing, distillery, chemical, feed mill industries production of fruit and grape wines preschool and school nutrition as well as public catering. Main fields: current technologies, automation of technological processes and production, enterprise machinery, automated processing of accounting and analytical information, microbiological and physicochemical methods of analysis, accreditation of laboratories.

Training of the responsible for the state of operability and safe operation of vessels working under pressure, pipelines and piping accessories of ammonia refrigerating installations are carried out, and certificates of passing the test in the legislation in the field of industrial safety are issued. Training courses can be organized at the client's enterprise. Trainees that complete training gets a certificate of advancing the qualification of the state type—the term of training: 1 – 2 months.

International students are offered accommodation in a block-type hostel (bathroom is available) located within 10 minutes of walking distance from the University. Generally, 2- 3 students share a room. Pricing varies from $30 — to $ 40 per month for a person.

The University has well-equipped facilities such as fitness and sports gyms, a stadium with running tracks, football playing field with tribunes, a gym campus, sport games grounds with a synthetic covering, tennis-courts, hokey-ground, football arena, and sports and fitness camp. Professional competitions, festivals, university humor parties, amateur performances contents are annually organized at the University.
